Neon Realtime, Measured: Live SQL Queries Replace the LISTEN/NOTIFY Layer We Built by Hand

Neon Realtime turns a SQL query into a live subscription. We rebuilt our hand-made LISTEN/NOTIFY layer on it as a live order board and measured it on a real Neon project: 48,600 writes at up to 100 per second, which queries are re-sent in full on every write, what a reconnect delivers, scale to zero, and 14 attempts to tamper with a sealed query.

SOC 2 Evidence From GitHub and Terraform, and the Part That Still Needs a Person

We pointed a small evidence collector at a repository whose main branch had a strict ruleset. The ruleset passed and three change-management controls failed. Here is which SOC 2 evidence you can pull from GitHub and Terraform, which still needs a person, and ten ways an evidence script can pass a control without evidence.

Postgres 19 Slipped to November: Every Pulled Feature and Why

PostgreSQL 19 now ships on 19 November, and 13 items left its release notes after beta 1. Here is each pulled feature with the reason from its revert, what to use instead, a script that finds beta-era code that depends on them, and why "AI found too many bugs" is only part of the story.

Let's Encrypt Goes to 64-Day Certificates: When Does Your ACME Client Actually Renew?

Let's Encrypt moves to 64-day certificates on 10 February 2027, and its staging environment already issues them. We issued real 64-day staging certificates with certbot, acme.sh and lego and recorded when each one renews. The ARI clients renewed or scheduled their renewal around day 42. acme.sh 3.0.7 with --days 80 scheduled its renewal for day 79, 15 days after the certificate expired, and upgrading to 3.1.6 fixed that at the next check.

Page, Ticket or Ignore: Is the Cheap Model Good Enough for Alert Triage?

We gave six models and two model routers on DigitalOcean Serverless Inference one written on-call policy and 200 alerts, three times each. A model at $0.16 per 1,000 alerts made every call the same way as one at $1.64, and the general router picked the expensive one. The real differences were latency, missed pages and a bug in our own test data that the models caught.

DORA Metrics From Git History: The Definition Picks Your Tier

We computed deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate and recovery time from one year of Kubernetes, uv, Go and Prometheus history, once per common definition. The definition alone moved every project across two or three DORA performance levels, and the merge button decides whether Git still knows when the work started.
